Event photography has become one of my favorite experiences. Here are photos I have taken as a volunteer photographer at the WaterFire art and music festival, recently held in August and September, in downtown Sharon, Pa. The event, originally started in Providece, RI, was brought to Sharon in 2013. The 2025 season was the last as the event won’t be returning. It had a much longer run than expected from the beginning. I’m grateful for all the wonderful people I’ve met who had a hand in making it successful over a 12 year span.

The organizers held a photo contest after the inaugural event and my submission won Best of Show. In 2014, they added a volunteer role for photographers and I jumped right in. I have photos from every year, even though I have missed a couple of events or was only able to capture some parts of the event. In the last years I’ve been able to attend the entire event and cover every aspect I possibly could.
